Adam Norgaard - "Otherness"

Adam Norgaard is an emerging artist currently living and working in Tokyo, Japan. I stumbled upon his work recently, I was awed by the simplicity of his homogeneous paintings, yet amazed by the details of his work up close.
Adam studied painting and printmaking at the Academy of Art University's School of Fine Art.
What I particularly love about Adam's work is how he often depicts the figures in his paintings as what he calls, "othered". I loved this term, otherness, stemming from loss and alienation. Adam's work usually highlights imaginative visuals, often seen in his dreams, but some playfulness never hurts, it serves along the creative process, so he experiments with the visuals he often imagines and the result is surreal.
Adam's paintings are a reflection of the inspiration he feels while living abroad, harnessing the cultural differences and the new sensations around him. His paintings are a true expression of his ever so "othered" life.
